Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We collect the information you give us and a small amount of technical data:

• Account information: name, email, password (stored hashed), high school, state, and graduation year.
• Academic profile: GPA, test scores, AP/IB courses, extracurriculars, awards, service hours, and any notes you add.
• Community activity: forum posts, votes, and college offers you log.
• Payment information: if you subscribe to Pro, our payment processor collects your payment details. We never see or store your full card number.
• Consent records: your confirmation that you are 13 or older and agreed to our Terms and this Policy, with a timestamp.
• Usage data: anonymized, aggregate analytics about pages visited, used to understand and improve the Service.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Generate your AI scouting report, composite score, and star rating.
• Calculate and display your national and state rankings (for Pro members who opt into public visibility).
• Operate community features — the forum, CrowdVote, and the offers board.
• Process subscriptions and prevent fraud.
• Communicate with you about your account and the Service.
• Maintain security and improve the product.

3. We do not sell your data

Prospxt does not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing. This is consistent with what we tell you in our FAQ.

4. Service providers we share data with

To run the platform, we rely on a small set of trusted service providers ("subprocessors"). They may process your data only to provide services to us, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations, and not for their own purposes:

• AI evaluation: when you request an evaluation, the relevant fields of your academic profile are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate your report. It is not used to train their models.
• Payments: Stripe processes subscription payments and handles your card details directly.
• Hosting & database: our application and database are hosted by our infrastructure providers (Vercel and Turso) to store and serve your data.
• Analytics: we use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics that do not sell or resell your data.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a business transfer — in which case this Policy will continue to govern your data.

5. What other users can see

Free profiles are private. If you subscribe to Pro and opt into public visibility, your name, high school, state, graduation year, rating, ranking, and any commitments you choose to show become visible on public pages such as the leaderboard and offers board. You control your commitment visibility, and you can downgrade or delete your account to remove public visibility.

6. Your choices and rights

• Access and update your profile information at any time from your account.
• Control whether your commitment and profile are publicly visible.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as GDPR or CCPA.

7. Data retention and security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. We use industry-standard measures — including hashed passwords and encrypted connections — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

8. Children and minors

Prospxt is intended for students who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it. Because many of our users are minors, we limit data collection to what the Service needs and may add parental-consent steps where required by law.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy as the platform grows. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
